2017-10-14 Economy Run

Oakleaf members driving 11 Model A's and 4 modern cars drove almost 90 miles on the 2017 59th Annual Economy Run on Saturday October 14th. The tour began in Pontiac at Tim Horton's where the initial fuel levels were recorded.  The participants enjoyed sporadic fall colors while the drivers drove with fuel-sipping methodologies in an off and on rainfall as they made their way to Wixom and then on to Dearborn via Hines Park Drive.

The group enjoyed trying out the new Ford's Garage restaurant in Dearborn for lunch.  The heaviest rain of fthe day awaited the drivers for the final leg of the trip to Bloomfield Township where Kyle and Kraig Morrison carefully measured fuel usage for each 'A'.

Congratulations to 1st place winner: Tom Hoover achieving 20.6 mpg driving his 1931 Coupe.  (Submitted by Bill Sturgeon)
